The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is an American comedy series created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. The series is about two socially inept prodigies, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), and Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who are living across the hall from a beautiful girl with an average intellect, Penny (Kaley Cuoco). When Leonard falls for Penny, Sheldon tries to discourage his interest because he believes his friend is chasing a dream he'll never catch.
In the same manner that Scrubs episodes almost always start with "My", Seinfeld episodes always start with "The"", and Friends episodes begin with "The One", the episodes of The Big Bang Theory always start with "The" (except for Pilot) and typically resemble the title of a scientific principle.

Big Brother

The show airs three times a week; Sundays at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), and Thursdays at 8 p.m (live ET/delayed PT). Big Brother 10 has been noted as a "back to basics" season by both CBS and the production team. As part of the back to basics format live audiences returned for the live eviction shows and the HouseGuests are complete strangers.

Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds is an American crime drama that premiered September 22, 2005 on CBS. It is produced by The Mark Gordon Company in association with ABC Studios and CBS Paramount Network Television. The show follows the adventures of a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. Criminal Minds differs from many criminal system procedural dramas by focusing on the criminal rather than the crime itself. Criminal Minds initially starred Mandy Patinkin as Jason Gideon and Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner. On July 17, 2007, it was announced that Patinkin had been granted a request to be released from his role on the show. Patinkin was replaced by Joe Mantegna, who joined the cast several episodes later after Patinkin left the show. The series' third season, which premiered on September 26, 2007, was interrupted in late 2007 by the industry-wide writer's strike. It aired its last pre-strike episode on January 23, 2008. Following the resolution of the strike, the show returned to air on April 2, 2008. On May 14, 2008, Criminal Minds was renewed for a 4th Season.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
The show follows the cases of the Crime Scene Investigation division of the Las Vegas Police Department, usually referred to by officers as the "Las Vegas Crime Lab". Anthony E. Zuiker chose to set the series in Las Vegas because—as mentioned in the pilot —that city's crime lab is the second most active in the United States, after the Federal Bureau of Investigation lab in Quantico, Virginia. The division solves crimes almost entirely through forensics evidence, which may or may not come to conclusion of a murder or accidental death. The bizarre conclusions of these cases often force one to question morals, beliefs and human nature in general.

CSI: Miami
The team investigates mysterious and unusual deaths to determine who killed whom and why, and also solves other serious crimes (such as rape). The show frequently focuses on a single case in each episode, or an investigation branched off from the main case (for example, episode 305, 'Legal,' in which a homicide in a nightclub is solved by Wolfe and Calleigh, while Horatio and Delko crack a prostitution ring being run by the nightclub's owner), as opposed to the two-cases-per-episode storytelling of its sister shows, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and CSI: NY. Many of its characters have appeared on all three CSI related shows because of the two-part episodes.

CSI: NY

CSI: NY is an American police procedural television series, which premiered on September 22, 2004. The series was the second spin-off, indirectly, from the popular CBS show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and directly from CSI: Miami, during an episode of which several of the CSI: NY characters made their first appearance. It trails the investigations of a team of New York City Police Department forensic scientists as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths and other crimes. Like the original CSI and CSI: Miami, CSI: NY is a police procedural about a team of forensic scientists who serve the New York City Police Department in the crime lab. It is set in present-day New York City. The team investigates mysterious and unusual deaths and also solves other serious crimes like rape, attempted murder, and terrorism.

How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother is an American situation comedy that premiered on CBS Broadcasting on September 19, 2005. The show was created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. The series is based around the main character, Ted Mosby, telling his son and daughter about the events that led to his meeting their mother. How I Met Your Mother's other main characters are Marshall Eriksen, Robin Scherbatsky, Barney Stinson, and Lily Aldrin. Thomas and Bays drew from their friendship in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife. The character Barney Stinson has been compared to Fonzie in Happy Days, in which a secondary "breakout character" often takes over much of the focus of the episodes.

The Mentalist
The Mentalist is a CBS police drama television series which debuted on September 23, 2008 on CBS. Starring Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. Jane's role in cracking a series of tough high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents. However, no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon openly resists having Jane in her unit and alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane's usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries. Lisbon's team includes agents Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and rookie member Grace Van Pelt, who all think Jane's a loose cannon but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases.

NCIS

NCIS is a television show that follows a fictional team of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team special agents, headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.. It is described by the actors and producers as being distinguished by its comedy elements, ensemble acting and character-driven plots. As NCIS is a federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction on crimes involving persons and property associated with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps, the team is frequently assigned to high-profile cases such as the death of the President's nuclear missile aide, a bomb situation on a U.S. Navy warship, the death of a celebrity on a reality show set on a USMC base, terrorist threats, and kidnappings. In a number of episodes on NCIS, Mark Harmon's character, Gibbs is seen wearing an old shirt with NIS written on it. This is not a mistake, as Navy veterans will often point out. Prior to it becoming NCIS, it was the Naval Investigative Service (NIS). This also effectively plays into the idea that Gibbs has been with NCIS for quite some time longer than the others.
